AIESEC-Program
In the age of globalization, inter-cultural understanding is both a political and, above all, an economic necessity. Deutsche Post DHL recognized this fact of life long ago. Together with AIESEC, the biggest international student association, we offer students from around the world the opportunity to get to know our company at an array of locations and to personally contribute to our success. All students who are part of AIESEC are eligible to apply.
AIESEC
AIESEC is the world's biggest international student association andis represented at more than 50 universities in Germany. AIESEC wasfounded more than 50 years ago to make a contribution to international understanding and to bring together the young people of many countries.
Deutsche Post DHL has been working with AIESEC since 1996 andsigned a partnership agreement in August 2000. Today, many thousands ofemployees around the world help organize the worldwide exchange ofinterns. Tolerance and flexibility toward other ways of thinking and living are also important to the work world in our global Group.
For this reason, AIESEC offers students the chance to work as internsin the areas of economics, IT and social issues. The local support for the interns includes intercultural training, workshops, and national and international courses.
Requirements
The qualifications that you should have for an internship in the AIESEC program depend on the needs of the department where you will be working. For this reason, the AIESEC coordinator will meet personally with a responsible manager at Deutsche Post DHL and then draw up an attractive qualification profile.
The profile will be in the form of a job listing and placed in AIESEC’s global database. All people involved with AIESEC can then apply for the position. If a suitable candidate is found, an AIESEC coordinator will get in touch with him or her and set up telephone interviews.
Selection criteria
If you are a self-starter and team player who is both flexible and dedicated, you already have a good chance of being selected as a suitable candidate for an AIESEC internship at Deutsche Post DHL. Your chances will climb even higher if your major is in a business-related field or computer science and if you have already spent time abroad and/or gained managerial experience. If you can round out this profile with very good knowledge of English and if you meet the special requirements of the job listing, there is little standing in your way to an AIESEC internship.
Intensive support
After the application and selection processes have been completed, the AIESEC coordinator will take care of the work permit, visa, accommodations and job contract covering the length of the internship. The coordinator will clear up any remaining questions with the responsible human resources department at Deutsche Post DHL. In addition, the coordinator will make preparations at an early point to ensure that the intern will have an opportunity to experience as much of the cultural and social life of his or her work location as possible during leisure time.
Experiences
Interns from many countries around the world use the chance to gain some on-the-job experience and put their skills to use in exciting projects.
Real-world experience for the leaders of tomorrow
