DHL Online Franking: fast, cost-effective and innovative
Even more convenient for private and eBay customers
Bonn, 10/31/2006, 10:30 AM CETAs of November 2, DHL will be offering a new online franking solution via the Internet. Customers can simply and quickly prepare, pay for and directly print small packet and parcel stamps. No registration or special franking software is required for using the offer since payment is made through online transfers via Paypal or Giropay (EC card). Another advantage is that all parcels cost one euro less than comparable retail outlet products.
"Seeing as there are more than 700 DHL PACKSTATIONs across Germany to date where customers can collect and send their parcels day and night, we are now completing our round-the-clock service with the new online offer", explains Boris Mayer, Head of Marketing for Private Customer Business at DHL Express Germany.
Via the www.dhl.de Internet page, customers can obtain their fully completed and franked dispatch note in just three steps:
- Complete: Select product and enter address data. The available products, prices and services are listed automatically for every country.
- Pay: For the order confirmation, the sender simply enters his e-mail address and pays the shipping costs through online transfer via Paypal or Giropay.
- Print: The Päckchenmarken or Paketmarken are printed by the customer directly via his own PC.
The small packets or parcels franked in this way may be handed in at any PACKSTATION and, of course, in all retail outlets. As a special service, the system notifies the sender automatically of the nearest Packstation.
An even simpler solution is to have your shipment picked up by DHL from your home. Just one click with the mouse and the order is issued. A one-off fee of three euros is charged for the pick-up. This service is free of charge if you have at least four parcels to be dispatched. The DHL online franking system has been planned and developed in close cooperation with eBay. This way and as of now, eBay customers can go directly from the auction site's Internet page to DHL Online Franking, with the address data of the buyer and seller being transferred automatically.
