Developing Global talent is key ingredient for future success says DHL Logistics
Bonn, 10/19/2006, 11:30 AM CESTDHL Logistics is striving to become the most desirable employer in the industry. John Allan, Board Member of DPWN and CEO of DHL Logistics, today, said to the logistics industry at the BVL Congress that acquiring and developing talent, globally will be the key ingredient for success during the next stage of DHL Logistics growth and development.
Allan stated, that "As DHL Logistics nears the end of its integration of Exel and starts to turn attention to future growth and development, it has becoming increasingly clear that we are operating a world where supply chains are getting longer, more complex and supported by sophisticated technology. To meet these challenges our customers are relying more and more on our people's knowledge and understanding of logistics."
"I challenge any company, acting on the global stage to be successful without talented and committed people at all levels of the business. Across my team of 150,000 people every single person plays a vital role in delivering beyond the customers' expectation from our warehouse operatives, to drivers, HR and finance professionals and those people meeting our customers on a daily basis."
"As we expand in every region, but particularly in emerging markets such as Russia and India and we develop specific solutions in given market sectors, we are continually on the look out for innovative and dedicated people to support us in achieving this."
"The logistics profession is now becoming a dynamic and challenging place to work. We are striving to become the most desirable employer in the industry."
John Allan was speaking at a panel discussion on "Global Logistics - Success and Security Strategies of International Companies" at the BVL congress in Berlin.
