DHL takes pole position in Formula One™ logistics
DHL expands Official Logistics Partnership with Formula One™
Bonn, 03/06/2006, 10:30 AM CETDHL, the world's leading express and logistics specialist has expanded its range of services for Formula One TM. The merger with Exel in December widens the offering of services for teams, officials and sponsors in the world's most popular racing series. This includes transporting of race cars, engines, wheels, spare parts and TV equipment to racetracks overseas as well as the supply of more than 1 million liters of fuel used during the 18 races on four continents. Formula One TM starts its 2006 season on March 12 in Bahrain. DHL has been supporting Formula One TM as a Global Partner and Official Logistics Provider since 2004.
For each racing weekend, DHL will deliver up to 300 tons of equipment, enough to fill about 100 trucks. At the track, DHL's mobile logistics center will provide 24-hour service covering everything from the delivery of parcels and documents to customs services and shipments of dangerous and temperature-sensitive goods. DHL will also transport all of the material for the Paddock Club, the exclusive VIP area.
