Deutsche Post plans sale of Vfw AG
Bonn, 10/09/2006, 11:30 AM CESTDeutsche Post AG has decided to dispose of its fully-owned subsidiary Vfw AG. The Cologne-based return logistics company was acquired by Deutsche Post AG in 2005 alongside Exel. As part of a strategic review of Vfw AG, it has been decided that this business is not a key focus for Deutsche Post AG in Germany.
Vfw AG is a leading provider in the field of reverse logistics. It is currently setting up its own "Dual System" as an alternative to the "Green Dot" of former monopolist Duales System Deutschland GmbH.
The Frankfurt-based investment bank Metzler has been mandated exclusively to advise on the transaction.
