Send heavy items with ease
Drop off DHL parcels up to 31.5 kilograms at retail outlets or have them picked up at home
Bonn, 09/28/2006, 11:30 AM CESTStarting October 2, private customers can now drop off parcels up to 31.5 kilograms (approx. 70 lbs.) at Deutsche Post and Postbank retail outlets. With this move, DHL is rounding up its weight classes for parcels of 10 and 20 kilograms. The offer is valid for items sent within Germany and costs EUR13.90. The parcel must be provided with a fully-filled out Paketmarke parcel stamp.
Customers that prefer having a 31.5 kilogram parcel picked up can place their order by telephone. The pick-up takes place any day the sender wishes, but no earlier than the next working day. The DHL courier supplies a fully-filled out parcel label at pick-up. Payment is accepted either by direct debit or credit card. The price of the so-called "Callpaket" is EUR15.90 for dispatch within Germany.
The existing maximum dimensions of 120 x 60 x 60 cm (47 x 23.5 x 23.5 inches) also apply to the 31.5 kilogram parcel.
