B2C Service in Sweden further improved
Parcels handling now in a large number of 7-Eleven stores
Stockholm, 01/14/2008, 10:30 AM CETDHL is continuing to increase the number of DHL Servicepoints both in built-up areas and in the country. The cooperation agreement with Reitan Servicehandel gives franchise holders of 7-Eleven stores and news stands the chance to broaden their range and allow the posting and collection of DHL parcels. Consumers now have a simple way of posting and collecting DHL parcels of different sizes in a number of 7-Eleven stores and news stands around the country.
"With Reitan Servicehandel as a partner, we can offer private and business customers increased access to our posting and collection points. The Group's shops have generous opening hours and are located in busy areas. This makes it very easy for customers to pick up or drop off parcels at times that suit them", says Lars Jordahn, CEO DHL Express (Sweden).
Around 1,100 posting and collection points
DHL Express (Sweden) recently launched Servicepoint, which allows private individuals and companies to drop off or collect parcels at around 1,100 posting and collection points. Booking and tracking of the goods are handled over the Internet. All administration and information provision is web-based, and recipients are notified by SMS or e-mail.
The packaging, which is included in the total price, can be reused and recycled. The size of parcel is selected in conjunction with the booking at www.dhl.se. There are boxes for 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 kilo packages.
CO2-offset by investment in new technology for vehicles
All parcels handled within the Servicepoint system in Sweden are CO 2-offset. This process is certified by SGS, an independent company authorized by the World Bank to verify projects initiated to reduce greenhouse gases. The emissions are offset by investment in new technology for vehicles, the use of renewable fuels, solar energy projects, methane extraction and biogas production, and support for tree-planting.
"It is important to us to be able to give good service to our customers, quickly and simply. By introducing DHL Servicepoint in a large number of stores, we are improving our level of service to our customers", says Torbjörn Svedenklint, Business Development Manager for Reitan Servicehandel in Sweden.
7-Eleven outlets in three regions
There are currently 7-Eleven outlets in three regions: Stockholm, Gothenburg and Öresund. The Pressbyrån network has shops all over the country, in big cities and in smaller towns. The shops within the Reitan Group that have a Servicepoint are listed under www.servicepoint.se.
There are now Servicepoint outlets in several European countries, including Italy, the UK, France, Spain, Poland, Austria and Belgium. The agreement with Reitan forms part of DHL Express' overall strategy to improve the accessibility of its services by increasing the number of drop points for customers around the world. DHL just announced a major cooperation deal with U.S. retailer Walgreens.
