- Feb 19, 2008: DHL (Czech Republic) and C4C continuing its partnership
DHL employees help children
Prague, 02/19/2008, 10:30 AM CET
DHL Express (Czech Republic) s.r.o., the market leading provider of express and logistics services, has announced that it is continuing its partnership with the humanitarian NGO Chance 4 Children (C4C), which is dedicated to offering help and assistance primarily to children living in care.
DHL began assisting C4C eight years ago by transporting clothing for children's homes from Norway and Sweden. Last year alone, DHL provided free transport of more than 25 tonnes of children's clothes and shoes worth in excess of EUR2 million.
DHL's employees help children
Over the last three years, the partnership between DHL and Chance 4 Children has expanded to include other joint activities. Besides regular shipments of children's clothes, DHL's employees have themselves willingly got involved in helping children (by taking part in cultural and sporting events under the Robin Hood initiative).
"We are delighted that our employees identify with DHL's charity work. Their growing interest in projects to help those in need confirms our opinion that it is a good idea to continue this partnership and step it up this year," said Pavla Krapová, DHL Express Communication Specialist.
A long-term assistance
"I am glad to have this opportunity to thank DHL for its long-term assistance. Their involvement is very important to us," added Manfred Franke, C4C's chairman and founder.
In partnership with C4C, DHL is planning a whole range of fun activities again this year, including bowling, a trip to Liberec Zoo and a visit to the Babylon amusement park.
"One very popular project is Christmas present shopping for children from three Czech children's homes. This year we would like to increase the number of children's homes so that we can brighten the lives of more kids and simultaneously satisfy all our employees," adds Pavla Krapová.
