DHL number one in TAPA certification in Europe
Brussels, 11/04/2008, 10:30 AM CETDHL Express announced today that it now leads the 2008 Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) security standards scoreboard in its European operations.
Currently DHL Express Europe lists 42 certified facilities and expects a further significant increase in 2009.
"We are proud to be one of the few globally certified express and logistics providers, now also leading the European TAPA scoreboard with over 40 certified sites.
TAPA EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) is a unique forum that unites over 260 manufacturers, freight carriers, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders in Europe with the common aim of reducing losses from international supply chains.
This is yet another step to expand our international platform, and we aim to top the current number significantly in 2009.
The adoption of TAPA standards has boosted our business, in particular in the area of transport of global high tech products. Always planning ahead, we now include TAPA standards into tender documents for new buildings", Ricky Fiander, Director of Customs, Security & Standards, DHL Express Europe said.
