Eric Malitzke to be the new managing director of DHL Hub Leipzig GmbH

Next year the former Managing Director of Flughafen Leipzig/Halle GmbH, Eric Malitzke (35), will become Vice President of DHL Hubs & Gateways and the new Managing Director of DHL Hub Leipzig GmbH.

He takes over for Robert Viegers, who left the management team on September 1, 2008, and will become the future Managing Director Operations at DHL Express Benelux.

Michael Reinboth, Project Manager for the DHL air hub in Leipzig/Halle and Managing Director of DHL Hub Leipzig GmbH will remain in his position at the air hub for the time being.

In logistics, Hub stands for a main transshipment base. Hubs are used as collection and nodal points for transshipment and for combining flows of goods in all directions. In the postal service, hubs are frequently parcel centers. The means of transport used for onward conveyance vary (ships, aircraft, trucks).
