The third round of wage negotiations between Deutsche Post and ver.di were held in Cologne on April 9, 2008.
The talks took place in a matter-of-fact and constructive atmosphere. Both parties confirmed their intentions to seek a solution at the negotiation table and agreed to hold additional negotiation rounds on April 17 and 18, 2008.
The leader of the negotiations for Deutsche Post, Ralf Stemmer, Head of Corporate Department for Corporate Compensation Policies/Labor Law Germany, welcomed the result:
"We are pleased with today's return to constructive talks and expect that they will enable us to avoid additional strikes. We intend to reach a comprehensive agreement on secure and competitive jobs for our employees that also includes an appropriate increase in wages."
