Fashion entrepreneur selects DHL as exclusive international express provider
Plantation, Florida, 02/16/2009, 10:30 AM CET
New York City-based International Inspirations, a fashion-jewelry wholesaler, awarded DHL an exclusive international express shipping contract due to DHL's success in helping the family-owned company achieve millions in annual sales.
International Inspirations attributes part of its triple-digit annual growth since 2005 to DHL's ability to speed its orders to and from factory floors in Asia and the U.S.
What started out four years ago as a fledgling home-based enterprise by husband and wife team, Mandy and Shaya Reiter, is now a leading fashion jewelry design house. The company creates fashion designs and develops private label assortments and the latest collections of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, headbands, and assorted fashion accessories, serving over 40 specialty jewelry retailers across the U.S.
Minimizing time-to-market
International Inspirations uses DHL for its entire international express shipping needs - from the pickup and delivery of large pallets of finished jewelry product from factories in China to International Inspiration's 10,000 square feet distribution center in New Jersey, to
the delivery of jewelry design samples to and from China, as well as the shipment of retail packaging materials to factories in China.
"DHL has helped us diversify suppliers across China, enabling us to schedule multiple pickups from different factories without having to worry about consolidating shipments, airline minimums or flight scheduling conflicts," said Shaya Reiter, co-owner of International Inspirations. "DHL gives my company the ability to deliver extremely urgent large parcels across continents in two days - along with very responsive account management and competitive pricing."
Continued Reiter, "I regularly see large shipments on pallets picked up from my factories in the most remote regions of China hundreds of miles from Shanghai delivered in just two business days to my distribution center in the U.S. In my business, we need to stay on top of the trends, so time-to-market is critical for our success; and we have DHL to thank for that."
DHL's operation in China today serves 317 Chinese cities from 56 branch offices, and has invested over US$1.3 billion in Greater China in recent years.
Smooth customs clearance
"By leveraging our unmatched global transportation network and portfolio of international services, DHL can help companies doing business with global suppliers flourish by moving product across continents efficiently, quickly, and cost effectively," said Charles Brewer, Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Northeast Region, DHL Express.
DHL manages the majority of shipment volume for International Inspirations through DHL's Import Express service, an all-inclusive, door-to-door service for expediting imports to the United States. DHL staff at its Gateway at JFK and at its central hub facility in Ohio proactively monitors all International Inspirations shipments from the time they are inducted into the DHL system until final delivery, ensuring a smooth customs clearance process.
International Inspirations displays its Lux Accessories collection at its Jewelry Sales Inc. showroom, located at 389 Fifth Avenue suite 1212 in New York City. For inquiries, contact 1-866-lux-jewl or sales@international-inspirations.com.
