Dear readers,

Today Deutsche Post DHL is the world's leading postal services provider and logistics company. The Group's two brands Deutsche Post and DHL cover a unique portfolio of services in logistics (DHL) and communication (Deutsche Post). The Group has transformed itself from a former government-run agency into a publicly quoted global company.

Through our work in investor relations we often meet analysts and investors who have had no previous dealings with our company. During these initial discussions we first provide some background information before we move on to more detailed areas. This gives those to whom we speak a better feel for our Group structure, business model and the equity story of Deutsche Post DHL.

In the Investors' Factbook we have summarised this background information as well as provided some details on specific areas of financial data, e.g. the pensions of staff with civil servant status. All the data and information in the Factbook are taken from previously published investor relations publications and presentations.

We will usually aim to update the Investors' Factbook once a year after publication of the annual report. Please let us know if you are missing information on a specific area or you feel that particular topics need to be addressed in more detail. We will be only too happy to look at your suggestions and comments and reflect these in a future update where appropriate.
